David Notman-Watt
Founder/Managing Director
David founded back2back in 2003 as a shooting PD, finally putting down the camera in 2009 to concentrate upon building the business. As well as MD, David is also Executive Producer on much of the company’s factual and fact-ent output both in the UK and internationally. In recent years David, along with his long-serving core back2back team, has shifted the company’s focus from the UK, and set about establishing returning international brands and franchises. With numerous series now returning for a third and fourth run the hard work is paying off and the company continues to grow year on year.

Anna Boronat
Head of Production
Anna joined back2back as Head of Production in 2018. Specialising in factual programming, she started her production management career in London in the late 90’s and has worked for some of the UK’s leading production companies. In 2010 Anna upped sticks to live by the sea and thoroughly enjoys being part of the thriving Brighton TV community. Career highlights that still make her smile are MasterChef BBC, My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding TLC & The Repair Shop BBC. Anna oversees back2back’s growing team while ensuring the company continues to expand its new and returning series.

Holly Bigsby
Head of Development
Holly joined back2back in November 2014. As Head of Development, she is responsible for overseeing the slate for the UK and US. Prior to joining back2back, Holly worked as Head of Development at Electric Sky Productions where she was responsible for the development and commission of numerous factual series and documentaries for the UK and US markets. Early in her career, Holly worked at Cactus TV as a news producer for Channel 4’s long running flagship series Richard and Judy. Her credits also include This Morning (ITV), Sky News and MTV. Holly trained as a journalist at City University, London.

Ian Roe
Head of Finance
Ian is a chartered accountant who has worked in television for over 20 years, primarily in programme production. Having held roles at Yorkshire Television and Granada Productions he was then Director of Finance for ITV Productions with a remit across all programme genres and five production sites which produced around half of ITV’s programme slate as well as many shows for other UK and overseas broadcasters.

Rebecca Notman-Watt
Operations Director
Rebecca joined the company in 2009 and is responsible for financial management, human resources, and all operational matters.

Claire Hamilton
Senior Production Executive
Prior to joining back2back Claire has worked as a PM, Line Producer and Head of Production at many well respected indies working across a wide range of award winning productions, including arts, history, specialist factual and documentaries at KEO Films, October Films, Blast Films, Raw TV, Fresh One and Raw Cut TV. Claire has location managed across the world, specialising in managing productions in some of the world’s toughest environments.

Mitzi David
Production Executive
Mitzi joined back2back in 2016 with a vast array of experience under her belt, encompassing many genres of mainstream, international programming including live studio, large outside broadcasts and location filming across the world. Prior to joining the company she worked as a freelance Production Manager on series such as Don’t Tell The Bride, The Paul O’Grady Show and Miss World. She worked in Australia for both Fremantle and Shine on some of the country’s biggest programmes and has spent time on location, managing large crews in America, Europe, the UAE and South Africa. Since joining the company she has progressed to overseeing a variety of programmes alongside company-wide scheduling and post.

Ash Taylor
Development Assistant Producer
Born and raised in the North West, Ash relocated to the South Coast for University over a decade ago, where he’s since moved to Brighton to pursue his TV career. Starting in practical roles on location until mid-2019, Ash is a core member of the back2back development team and the office’s resident northerner.

Andy Stallabrass
Production Accountant
Andy joined back2back in March 2020. He is a CIMA part-qualified accountant with a background in film and TV, having spent 10 years working in post-production sound for Warner Bros before switching to accounting in 2018.
Post Production

Carla Foss
Head of Post Production
Carla is a highly respected post-production specialist, with more than 10 years of experience in factual entertainment. Carla joined back2back from Ricochet Television, where she was promoted to Head of Post-Production Operations in 2017. At Ricochet, Carla was key in delivering hundreds of hours of programming, including BBC One’s RTS award-winning The Repair Shop and Channel 4’s ever-popular Food Unwrapped. Carla oversees back2back’s expanding in-house Post-Production department, managing the overall post-production work-flow to ensure the smooth running of all post activities, from editing to delivery.

Sharman Finn
Head of Creative Post Production
Sharman brings with him over fifteen years’ experience within the industry and oversees the creative arm of Back2Back’s post production department.
With a wealth of colourist, offline and online experience in multiple genres including fact-ent, observational documentaries, music, sport and current affairs, Sharman has established himself as a trusted hand for the ever-evolving creative needs of our productions.

Rachael Scammell
Senior Edit Assistant
Before joining back2back in 2017, Rachael worked as a Location Assistant and an Edit Assistant on an array of productions for many well respected indies. Her responsibilities at back2back include ingest, conforms, QCs and deliveries for a vast range of productions. Rachael studied a Master’s degree in Journalism and Documentary Practice at the University of Sussex.

Liam Davey
Senior Edit Assistant
Before joining back2back in 2016, Liam worked as a freelance camera operator and editor, creating high-quality corporate, commercial and branded content. Since joining the team, Liam has further developed and employed an extensive technical and creative skillset; conforming, QC’ing and delivering hundreds of hours of content to channel, as well as cutting development promos, and more recently, working in offline editing.

Phill Brown
Edit Assistant
Phill recently joined as a Post-Production Runner in September 2020 having graduated from Screen and Film School in Brighton. As well as his post-production duties, Phill also runs the camera kit room.

Wayne Urquhart
Dubbing Mixer
After a BSc Music degree at City Uni, Wayne started out in video games as a sound designer and music composer. He went on to specialise in television broadcast audio and spent 7 years at A+E Networks UK (then the History Channel on SKY) working his way up to Head of Audio. Wayne now freelances as an experienced Dubbing mixer and Sound Designer, he has been integral to the success of back2back’s audio facility and has worked on most of B2B’s programmes over the last 3 years.
